Videos: A series of training videos from Child Trafficking: A Training Series for Frontline Officers (International Association of Chiefs of Police, U.S. Department of Justice, and FBI) is used depicting sworn law enforcement officers demonstrating alternative responses to different scenarios involving child trafficking. The training facilitators lead interactive discussion with participants to identify key points made in the videos, best practices as well as mistakes demonstrated as learning tools, and how to apply this knowledge to their role as first responders.

Personal Stories and Role Plays: Personal stories from survivors and law enforcement as well as role play scenarios are incorporated as learning tools to enhance understanding, personal insight into how might respond in similar circumstances, improve empathy, and practice trauma-informed responses to potential situations.

Screening for and Identification of Trafficking Victims: Participants are trained in ways to screen and identify potential victims of child trafficking including those who are foreign-born, risk factors, common indicators, trauma informed screening and interviewing, and assessment tools. This includes written materials, observation of techniques demonstrated, role plays and an opportunity to practice screening interview skills.

Universal Response Protocol: Participants receive training in Universal Response Protocol in suspected child trafficking cases including on-scene assessment, points of contact, multi-disciplinary engagement of law enforcement, child protective services, and juvenile justice.
