This class is designed to help provide training to child-serving professionals, DHR staff, social workers around the topic of commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC) and labor trafficking of minors. Children and youth involved in child protective services and juvenile justice systems are at higher risk of exploitation as are runaways and victims of child abuse and sexual assault. This class will help child-serving professionals understand issues related to CSEC, labor trafficking, risk factors, signs of exploitation, and how to support minors who have been or are at risk of being trafficked. Using appropriate interview techniques/questions, being trauma-informed, knowing risk factors, and response protocols are key to identification of and assistance to minor trafficking victims.
