Job Requirements
Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the expansion and implementation of CTSP operations including but not exclusive to community engagement, stakeholder partnerships, training, communications, Trafficking Free Zones, technical assistance such as uniform response protocols, effective child trafficking MDTs, strengthening access to survivor care services. Actively engages with community members to raise awareness, provide education, and promote positive change in combatting child trafficking by facilitating workshops, outreach programs, and collaborations with local organizations, often focusing on addressing unique needs within a particular community, all while building strong relationships and advocating for community based initiatives and solutions.
Minimum Education and Work Experience: Master’s degree in education, communications, or social work preferred; experience in educating or training; human trafficking prevention or intervention services; child protective services may be considered in lieu of graduate degree. Bi-lingual Englich/Spanish preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Licensed or license eligible, if applicable to the degree. Valid Alabama driver’s license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills: Ability to effectively present information, engage diverse audiences, and facilitate discussions; including use of social media
• Training expertise: experience as a trainer with expertise in the area of child trafficking prevention and the ability to teach and build these competencies in others
• Cultural competency: Understanding and respecting different cultural and socioeconomic perspectives and adapting communication strategies accordingly.
• Community engagement skills: Demonstrated experience in mobilizing community members, building engagement, and facilitating inter-agency collaborations.
• Project Management skills: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor programs and initiatives.
• Subject matter expertise: Knowledge of the specific issue of human trafficking (sex, labor and on-line)
• Knowledge of community resources and knowledge of public policy, regulations, and legislation pertaining to human trafficking, child exploitation, child well-being.
Required Internal Certification/Trainings: Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report; annual background check; and DHR Mandatory Reporting training.
List any physical requirements: Travel for meetings, community events and training. Light lifting may be required.
