Summary: This position is responsible for instructing parenting classes in both English and Spanish; facilitating outreach to Hispanic/Latinx communities and agencies serving this population to recruit program participants and cultivate relationships; managing Parent Educator co-facilitators and contractors; maintaining and preparing group materials; and maintaining records of group participants
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, Psychology, Human and Child Development, Counseling, Sociology or related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum Work Experience: One year
Required Licenses/Certifications: Licensed or license eligible, if applicable to degree. Valid Alabama driver license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Fluency in English and Spanish; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with outcomes development, tracking, and achievement; experience with quality improvement; ability to motivate clients and assist them in changing behaviors; knowledge of community resources; understanding of children, parenting, basic life skills and ability to teach them to others; ability to work well with other team members; ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma informed care.
Required Internal Certification/Trainings: Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report; background clearances; Active Parenting trainer training; Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama required training; other program-specific training
