The Child Trafficking Solutions Project (CTSP) specializes in partnering with communities to combat child trafficking through training, implementation of uniform response protocols and the development of cross-disciplinary strategic partnerships. CTSP is a broad-based coalition that works collaboratively with law enforcement, first responders, health and mental health professionals, juvenile justice systems, child welfare agencies, human trafficking organizations and schools, to create a unified community-based response to prevent and address the trafficking and exploitation of Alabama’s children. Mission

  • To prevent, identify and improve outcomes for child survivors of trafficking through collaborative, community-based solutions.
  •  To mobilize and equip communities to prevent exploitation, raise awareness and increase safety through cross-sector partnerships, specialized training, and a commitment to creating Trafficking Free Zones.

Goals

1. Prevention: Reduce and prevent incidents of child trafficking, including sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and online exploitation.

2. Survivor Care: Improve access to comprehensive, trauma-informed care for survivors—from initial identification and safety to long-term stability and healing.

3. Accountability: Strengthen the investigation and prosecution of perpetrators to ensure justice and deter future trafficking.

Establishment of Uniform Response Protocols

CTSP focuses on recognizing and responding to all forms of child trafficking and facilitates collaboration across disciplines including law enforcement, child protective services, juvenile justice, health/mental health providers, child advocacy centers, and schools.

Enhanced Access to Trauma-Informed Support Services 

CTSP provides access to evidence-based assessment tools, secure housing options, health/mental health care, educational resources, justice system guidance, and coordinated care within local communities.

Advocacy for Stronger Public Policy and Legislation

CTSP works towards the improvement of prevention, prosecution, and the provision of trauma-informed services for survivors and at-risk children/youth by championing robust public policy initiatives, regulations, and legislation.
